Setting up your website with and is easy and this chapter shows you how. Before you start, sign up for one of the shared hosting packages Hostgator offers. This is important because you will need some information Hostgator sends you in their welcome email when you set up your domain with GoDaddy.
GoDaddy
1. Register your domain with
2. Get the login details for your account via email
3. Login to your account

4. Go to “My Domains”

5. Select the domain

6. Click on the Name servers

7. Check the email you received from for your DNS or Name Servers. Enter them instead of the ones GoDaddy has set and press OK.

What you have done now is telling your registrar where your website is hosted. The next step is to set up the website and domain on your hosting account.
Hostgator
I already praised how reliable and how quick their support is and another advantage is that they offer one-click installations for a variety of scripts that help you to run a website.
After you have registered your domain name and have your webhosting set up it is time to create your website which is easier than you might think. We will do this via one-click installations that are available via fantastico in your control panel.
But before we can do that we have to add the domain to your webhosting package.
1. Login to your control panel. Your username, password and the address you need to enter your control panel was sent to you by hostgator. It is usually something like this: http://70.97.61.194/cpanel
2. Click on “Addon Domains”

3. Add the new domain

4. Wait 10 seconds until everything is set up and then go back to the main cpanel admin.

5. Choose Fantastico Deluxe from the cpanel menu.

6. Click on WordPress.

7. Click on New Installation

5. Select your domain and leave the folder empty. Fill out all the other details. You don’t have to worry about the email configuration that would enable you to blog via email. You can configure that later. Just fill in something and click on Install WordPress.

6. Click on finish the installation

7. In the last step I recommend that you email all the data to yourself

Now your blog is set up and ready to use! But it takes about 24 - 48 hours until your new name servers are propagated and after that you will be able to login to your admin area (http://yourdomain.com/wp-admin) with the username and password you have set in step five.
